In a recent court filing, Dana Haas has initiated a lawsuit against Carmax Auto Superstores, Inc., alleging multiple forms of discrimination and retaliation. The case, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, claims violations under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Haas asserts that she faced sex-based discrimination due to her gender and sexual orientation as a lesbian, age discrimination as she is over 40 years old, and disability discrimination due to her medical conditions including diabetes and post-traumatic stress disorder. The complaint details that after taking medical leave for surgery and health issues, Haas was terminated upon her return under allegations of incorrect data entry—a claim she disputes. Her lawsuit seeks remedies including back pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees.
