Felecia Ingram, a former gift card sales associate at The Home Depot, has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after stealing over $4 million from the company through fraudulent gift card transactions.

“While employed at The Home Depot, the defendant abused the trust placed in her and stole a staggering $4 million from the company,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. “She engaged in a calculated scheme that involved entering false gift card orders, which she later deleted to cover her tracks. She has now been sentenced to federal prison to pay for her deceit.”

Robert Donovan, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service Atlanta Field Office, stated: “Exploiting her position for personal gain, this criminal thought she could use her knowledge of her employer’s business practices to conceal a multi-million-dollar fraud scheme. Thanks to the tireless work of our agents, cooperation from the Home Depot, and the skill of the prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she will spend the next three years in prison paying for her crimes.”

Court documents show that Ingram worked at The Home Depot since 2008. From March 2020 through July 2021—during a period when fewer employees were working onsite due to pandemic conditions—she used facility access credentials to steal over 8,000 physical gift cards from The Home Depot Store Support Center.

Ingram activated these stolen cards by creating false orders with her network access credentials, making it appear as though they were distributed for legitimate corporate purposes before deleting those orders from company records. She sold the activated cards on illicit markets and used much of the proceeds for gambling.

The fraud was discovered after The Home Depot’s gift card team found discrepancies in ledger balances. An internal investigation determined that Ingram had stolen approximately 8,325 cards valued at over $4 million within about eighteen months.

Ingram was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge Thomas W. Thrash, Jr., receiving three years and one month in prison followed by three years of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay restitution totaling nearly $3.95 million to The Home Depot after pleading guilty to access device fraud on May 1, 2025.

The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service with support from The Home Depot during proceedings led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen H. McClain.
