The awards are given to lawyers and legal employers who have shown dedication to creating opportunities for underrepresented groups within Georgia’s legal profession. The committee said these honors go to those who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment throughout their careers “to improving the profession and supporting diversity in the legal profession and have made great efforts to serve clients from underrepresented groups consistent with the core of our mission.” Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Aug. 7, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

According to the official website, the Georgia Bar Association funds its programs mainly through membership fees and voluntary contributions according to the official website.
