Georgia Lawyers for the Rule of Law and the State Bar of Georgia, together with the Supreme Court of Georgia, announced on Apr. 17 that members of the state’s legal community are invited to celebrate Law Day 2026. The event will take place on Friday, May 1 at noon in the Supreme Court courtroom at the Nathan Deal Judicial Center in Atlanta. During this occasion, attorneys will participate in a recommitment ceremony where they will retake their oath of admission to the bar. Justice Charles J. Bethel from the Supreme Court of Georgia will administer the oath.
The annual event is intended to remind lawyers and others about their duty to uphold ethical standards and support both state and federal constitutions. This year’s theme is “The Rule of Law and the American Dream,” which encourages reflection on core constitutional principles by all Americans, especially those in law.
Remarks are scheduled from State Bar President Christopher P. Twyman and Young Lawyers Division President Veronica R. Cox during the ceremony. Organizers request advance registration for attendees.
