Jeffrey Ashmore has filed a lawsuit against Heli America, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, alleging racial discrimination and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 42 U.S.C. § 1981. Ashmore claims that he faced a hostile work environment at Heli America’s Atlanta facility, where he was one of only a few non-Chinese employees. He alleges that Chinese employees were given preferential treatment, including exclusive access to operational meetings and sales leads, which directly impacted his compensation and job performance. After raising concerns about these discriminatory practices with his manager, Ashmore was terminated the following day for “performance reasons.” The lawsuit seeks damages for lost wages, emotional distress, and punitive damages.
