Katherine Showfety has filed a lawsuit against Perfect Sense, Inc., doing business as Brightspot, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The complaint alleges disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and retaliation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Showfety claims that after being diagnosed with multiple heart-related conditions, her employer failed to provide reasonable accommodations and retaliated against her by demoting and eventually terminating her employment. She seeks injunctive relief, back pay, reinstatement or front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, and attorney’s fees.
