Matt and Ann Maloney, the surviving parents of Diana Maloney, have filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia against Southern Health Partners, Inc., Betty Evans, LPN, and Dr. James Graham. The case alleges negligence in the medical care provided to their daughter, Diana Maloney, who died by suicide while experiencing opioid withdrawal at Wilkinson County Jail. The complaint highlights failures in administering prescribed medications and proper monitoring of Diana’s condition, leading to her death. The plaintiffs seek damages for the full value of Diana’s life under Georgia’s wrongful death statute and claim violations of her constitutional rights under 42 U.S.C. ยง 1983.
