In a recent court filing, Matt and Ann Maloney, the surviving parents of Diana Maloney, have initiated a lawsuit against Southern Health Partners, Inc., Betty Evans, LPN, and Dr. James Graham. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, Macon Division. The plaintiffs are seeking damages for what they allege was professional negligence that led to their daughter’s death while she was in custody at Wilkinson County Jail. Diana Maloney, who was battling opioid addiction, reportedly did not receive appropriate medical care during her withdrawal period, which ultimately resulted in her committing suicide. The complaint outlines several failures by the defendants to provide necessary medical treatment and supervision. The plaintiffs are demanding a jury trial and are represented by attorneys from The Champion Firm and Gomez Law Group.
