Antonio Jones has taken legal action against his former employer, City Glass Company, alleging a racially hostile work environment. On January 30, 2026, Jones filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia against City Glass Company. The lawsuit highlights severe racial harassment that Jones claims to have endured during his employment.

The complaint details how Antonio Jones, who began working as a Glass Worker for City Glass Company in October 2020, was subjected to frequent racial slurs and derogatory comments from his supervisor Jared Chambers and other coworkers. Jones, the only black employee at the company during his tenure, alleges that Chambers used racial slurs such as “nigger” regularly and made racially insensitive remarks about him performing certain tasks because of his race. Despite raising concerns with Chambers and witnessing these behaviors in front of higher management like Sarah from Human Resources and Sam Smith, the owner of City Glass Company, no remedial actions were taken.

Jones recounts specific incidents where he was demeaned due to his race. For instance, during a safety training video session in November 2020, Chambers made an offensive comment using a racial slur after a tragic scene was shown. Furthermore, on a company fishing trip in November 2024, Chambers reportedly used racial slurs against both Jones and another employee named Carlos while making xenophobic remarks towards Carlos. These incidents continued until Jones’s termination in April 2025 under the pretext of lack of work—a claim he disputes given that new employees were hired shortly after his departure.

Jones is seeking various forms of relief from the court including damages for lost wages and emotional distress caused by this hostile work environment. He also requests punitive damages citing malicious intent by City Glass Company and its employees in perpetuating this environment. Additionally, Jones seeks injunctive relief either through reinstatement or compensation if reinstatement is not feasible.

Representing Antonio Jones are attorneys V. Severin Roberts and Patrick Reid from The Workers’ Firm based in Georgia. The case is under Case ID 3:26-cv-00014-TES.
