A disabled veteran has taken legal action against a federal department, alleging discrimination and unfair treatment in the workplace. The complaint was filed by the plaintiff in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on November 25, 2025, naming Douglas A. Collins, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, as the defendant.

The plaintiff, who is a service-connected disabled veteran with chronic medical conditions exacerbated by stress, brings this case under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Rehabilitation Act. The plaintiff claims that their requests for reasonable accommodations due to their health conditions were not implemented by their employer. Additionally, they allege sex-based pay inequity and claim that they were excluded from training and promotion opportunities available to other colleagues. “Plaintiff states that her compensation differed from colleagues with similar duties,” according to the complaint.

Furthermore, the complaint outlines several grievances related to workplace treatment during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The plaintiff asserts that they did not receive hazard pay or retention-related compensation given to some colleagues during this period. Other allegations include inaccurate statements about system access and limitations on using professional credentials compared to others in similar roles.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court, including a trial by jury, declaratory and injunctive relief, compensatory damages, attorney’s fees (if later represented by counsel), and any other relief deemed just and proper. They emphasize that these facts are presented solely for meeting federal pleading requirements without intending to challenge prior administrative findings.

The case is identified as Civil Action No: 1:25-cv-06799-SDG-AWH. Donna Coleman represents herself as the plaintiff’s attorney in this matter.
