Albrent Young, a former employee of Hyundai Mobis, has filed a lawsuit against the company alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation. The complaint was filed on January 16, 2026, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Young accuses Hyundai Mobis of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
According to the court documents, Albrent Young was employed as a Production Supervisor at Hyundai Mobis’s facility in Ellabell, Georgia. On July 11, 2025, he reported serious safety violations via Microsoft Teams to management. These violations included bypassing safety interlocks and operating machinery with personnel inside. Despite the severity of these infractions, no disciplinary action was taken against those responsible. Young claims that many involved were Korean nationals in supervisory roles.
Shortly after filing his complaint about these safety issues, Young was terminated from his position. He argues that his dismissal was discriminatory and retaliatory because there were no documented safety policies that justified his termination. Furthermore, he believes that other employees who committed more severe violations were not disciplined similarly.
Young has gathered evidence to support his claims, including signed witness statements from supervisors affirming the lack of trained or documented safety policies at Hyundai Mobis. He also possesses photographic and video evidence related to both the safety violations and his subsequent termination. Additionally, he has either filed or intends to file an OSHA complaint regarding these matters.
In his lawsuit, Young seeks compensatory and punitive damages totaling $300,000 for lost wages, reputational harm, emotional distress, and economic hardship caused by Hyundai Mobis’s actions. He is also requesting attorneys’ fees and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. Furthermore, he demands reinstatement or front pay as part of the judgment.
The legal proceedings are being overseen by Judge RSB-CLR under Case ID 4:26-cv-00015-RSB-CLR. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Albrent Young himself while pursuing this case against Hyundai Mobis.
