In a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, Athens Division, Sonja Carswell and Daisha Milton are seeking justice for the death of Robin Alexondria Milton. The plaintiffs allege that Robin, who was arrested on minor charges and detained at Walton County Jail, suffered severe neglect leading to her death. The suit claims that despite Robin’s deteriorating health condition being evident to jail staff and medical providers, she was denied necessary medical care. The defendants include CorrectHealth Walton, LLC; CorrectHealth, LLC; several individual jail officers; and Walton County. The plaintiffs argue that the defendants’ actions amounted to deliberate indifference and seek compensatory damages.
