Stephanie Lee has filed a lawsuit against John Phelan, Secretary of the Department of the Navy, alleging retaliation in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. The complaint, filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, Albany Division, claims that Lee was subjected to retaliatory actions after engaging in protected activities related to reporting sexual harassment. The lawsuit details a series of events beginning with Lee’s employment at the Marine Corps Logistics Base and her experiences with harassment from a colleague. It further alleges that Brian Kelly, an employee involved in her past employment disputes, influenced XOtech LLC to withdraw a job offer made to Lee due to his retaliatory animus. The plaintiff seeks damages including back pay, front pay, compensatory and punitive damages amounting to no less than $300,000.
