Christopher Robertson, 42, of Fairburn, Georgia, appeared in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas on charges related to communicating interstate threats. The charges stem from a series of social media posts in which Robertson made threats to kill Jews and Black people. Authorities arrested Robertson on August 1, 2025, after an extended stand-off with the FBI. He remains in custody pending a hearing scheduled for August 7.
United States Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg stated: “The allegations against Robertson, which include menacing visits to Jewish facilities and vile online threats against Jews and Blacks, are of great concern. Protecting the community from hate-fueled violence is a foundational part of the Department of Justice’s mission, and we will aggressively prosecute criminals who abuse the internet to terrorize and intimidate others.”
Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta Paul Brown said: “Mr. Robertson’s alleged actions serve as a disturbing reminder of the terrifying hatred our Jewish communities encounter simply because of their beliefs. The FBI will continue to work diligently with our law enforcement and community partners to investigate any individual who threatens the safety of our residents.”
Court documents describe events beginning July 30 at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA) in Midtown Atlanta, where staff observed Robertson inside a secure parking area without authorization. Security staff confronted him after he claimed to be “the official spokesperson for the white race” seeking an audience with a senior Jewish leader.
After leaving JFGA at security’s request, Robertson went to The Temple synagogue nearby. There he asked two staff members for a rabbi while making derogatory remarks about Jewish people and expressing concerns about “the decline of the white race.” An Atlanta Police officer was present during this incident.
Investigators later found several social media accounts belonging to Robertson containing antisemitic videos and violent threats. One YouTube video showed him singing offensive lyrics targeting Jews; another Facebook post featured him holding a loaded pistol while stating his willingness to fight or kill over what he described as “cultural genocide.”
In response, authorities increased patrols around approximately 80 Jewish sites across metro Atlanta.
On July 31, Robertson entered a Chabad center in Peachtree City after posting online that he wanted to meet with a rabbi. Staff barricaded themselves while calling police; meanwhile, Robertson recorded the incident and posted it online declaring himself as an “official delegate of the white race” warning that Jews were facing extermination.
On August 1, he posted another video threatening violence against Black individuals whom he accused of hostility toward whites.
A federal arrest warrant was issued later that day for communicating interstate threats. When agents arrived at his residence, Robertson barricaded himself but eventually surrendered peacefully; authorities recovered a firearm during his arrest.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading this investigation with prosecution by Assistant United States Attorneys Brent Alan Gray and Bret R. Hobson.
