U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s Gainesville Division closes Jan. 27 due to winter weather

The Gainesville Division of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, because of hazardous driving conditions caused by wintry weather. The Atlanta, Newnan, and Rome Divisions are expected to remain open during their regular hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Hearings in Atlanta will continue as planned. Participants have the option to attend either in person or through the Court’s Virtual Hearing Room. Information about virtual attendance can be found on the Court’s website at https://www.ganb.uscourts.gov/dial-and-virtual-bankruptcy-hearing-information.

For Newnan, all hearings will take place as scheduled using the Virtual Hearing Room platform. Those interested in joining these hearings should consult the Virtual Hearings tab on Judge Ritchey Craig’s page on the Court’s website for participation instructions.

Vania S. Allen, Clerk of Court, stated: “Due to the dangerous driving conditions from wintry weather, the Gainesville Division of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Atlanta, Newnan, and Rome Divisions will be open normal operating hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.”
